In honor of today’s New York Times article about cheerleading’s never-ending quest for proper respect, and in remembrance of my three years as a member of Bullard High School’s freshman, JV and varsity pep and cheer squads (where we performed to Aretha at the 1992 state championships at Magic Mountain), I guide you toward a slideshow of photos I created about the 2007 tryouts for American University’s cheer team.
